Förderkreis awards Dr. Fahria Masum a silver medal


The Förderkreis Bodenordnung und Landentwicklung e.V. honored Dr. Fahria Masum on 30 March 2017 with a silver medal, for her contributions to land management at national and international level. The medal, which stands for a significant contribution to a more fair and equitable world was handed over by the chairman of the Förderkreis, Thomas Schmid, at the headquarters of the Bauindustrieverband. The ceremony was further attended by Prof. de Vries, Prof. Magel and Dr. Bröll.

The Förderkreis praised Dr. Masum's work for the international Master program in Land Management and Land Tenure and her multiple mentorships for PhD students from developing countries. Dr. Masum first came to Munich as an MSc student in 2004 and continued thereafter with her Doctoral dissertation which she completed with summa cum laude. Afterwards she was responsible for the daily coordination of the international Master and PhD program. In that capacity she has been a first point of contact at the Chair and at the TUM for many international students, for many national and international organizations and for funding agencies, such as DAAD, until 2016. Currently Dr. Masum works as independent consultant for land management
